Crazy Days Indeed.....

Well, it's been a very busy time for us lately!!!  Aside from making hats for St Patty's Day and the new Spring line, I have also been house shopping!  I've always heard of what an exciting, happy experience this was for others...they are liars with their pants on fire!!!!  LOL....it is the most stressful thing we've ever been through it feels like:)  Well, we are plugging away and searching for houses and looking at houses and driving by houses....soon we will have the perfect one:)
I have just completed a doily for a friends wedding and posted the pic here and on facebook....now i'm starting a new one for another order!!!!  I love making doilies and am still trying to get pricing down just right but i feel it is very reasonable for the work involved:)  I also like that it is a bit of a change from the usual hat making:)
Please let me know if there is anything you or your loved ones might be interested in...as far as doilies, I have pattern books dating clear back to the 40's!!!  Some very interesting designs, and very pretty!!!
Be sure to check out my Noggin Socks page on Facebook for my contact info and let me know if I can help with making your home a little more "homey" with some nice old fashioned doilies or simply just Sock your Noggin!!!!!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner....

Today I'm working hard around the house and trying like crazy to avoid leaving the house:)  The weather is not bad...I just want to get so much done without interruption, and the only way to do that is by NOT taking a trip into town in the middle of it all.  As the laundry does itself, I am working hard to get the Valentine Doily finished in time for some lucky gal who wants to dress up the room a little for that special day!  It would work perfect for that candle lit night indoors with her special someone as a centerpeice while she dines with her prince!!!!  OK...back to reality...it would just look great on a coffee table or dining table this time of year!  Be sure to check for the latest items up for sale and get one before they are gone!!!!  I'm also working on dish cloth sets....those are my favorite:)  Bless you all and thanks for your support!!!

One step at a time....

Please watch closely and check back every couple of days...I am slowly getting pics posted of some of my latest items up for sale:)  I will post the hats all up in the top half with the rest of the hats since the hats is really what Noggin Socks is about...watch the bottom section for the latest creations up for grabs though...that is where I will be posting the other pics..
I am so very excited to start getting these up.  I am sorry it is taking so long to get this started but it's easier and less stressful on me if I just take this one step at a time...afterall, I am a housewife with 4 kids:)  I love what I do as far as my crafts and hat business, but first and foremost come those kids...not to mention my hubby who needs just as much love and care:)
Thank you all for following and being patient with me as I take these small steps toward my goal:)
Don't forget to tell your friends about me:)

rain rain go away....

Well, it's a rainy day leading into a three day weekend!  Have a list of things to do:)  So, after running around, paying bills, and gathering kids from school later today....I'm going to sit and craft my little heart out!!!  Working on a real cute doily right now and that will be up for grabs soon....getting the materials ready for the pillowcases i have chosen to make....of course the hats keep coming:)....and I have finally rounded up some old pattern magazines to see what great little projects I can start on next!  I have made a couple of dish cloths to see how that would turn out....I like!!  Think I will make a set and post those too:)  So...I'm off to do the things I must do today and will probably be back on this evening with some pictures!  :)

busy busy busy....

Well, I'm diggin out old pattern magazines and getting ready to start on some new things...I've already had some folks share their interest in some of my examples!!!  I think the hardest part for me is going to be putting a price on things...how do you put a price on doing something you love?  The hats were way inexpensive (and still are) but I had to bite the bullet and raise it just a tad to make sure I was not under bidding myself...The adult hats (and teens) are $10...Kids hats are $7...and Baby hats are still just $5.  Although they are still very affordable, I sorta felt bad changing things up.
Now, when i start making doilies and the other things that I have planned I guess I will just have to get a little imput...feel free to offer yours...:)  I know already that I do not want to charge those rediculous craft bazzar prices, but at the same time, I cannot put myself out by spending the time it takes to create such peices without getting at least what it's worth.  Bottom line...I don't want to be a rip off, but don't want to get ripped off...LOL  I think I will just work it out as I go.  Maybe I will charge by size, or time put into the projects....and like I noted...I'm totally open to suggestions:)
Thanks again everyone who is checking out what I've got going here and also for following and sharing with your friends:)  All my posts on here are forwarded to my facebook which makes it available to you facebookers to share with your list of friends too!!  As well as your sharing, comments, and appreciation for what I do, prayers are also welcome and I thank you for those!!!

Have a great day everyone!  :)

Snow and Pillowcases....:)

Well, we finally got our snow!!!  And of course, as always here in Western Washington it has become slush...LOL:)  The snow means a couple of different things here in the Goldsby house, 1: kids dirty up double the laundry....2: mom makes homemade hot cocoa....3: mom has plenty of time to work on crafty things!!!  :)  I'm excited to get rolling on some new things.
I have discovered a quilting challenge that I want to participate in which includes making quilt style pillowcases and donating to hospitals, foster homes, nursing homes etc.  I will share the link so you can check it out as well and maybe we could get together and help some people in uncomfortable situations feel a little more cozy!!!  http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/freepatterns/  Feel free to click the link and check out some of the free patterns or just design your own!  My plan is to make a bunch for the Shriners Hospital in Portland Oregon since we have close ties to them...my oldest son has been a patient of theirs for 15 of his 17 years of living and they are amazing!!!  Some of the most beautiful children spend a good part of their lives there and I think they would love to have a nice cozy homemade pillow case to take home when they get to leave.
Thanks for stopping by to see what is new today and I will post pics of the latest stuff real soon!!

How to order...

As I begin to build this blog and post pictures, you might be wondering how to order.  I am new to this whole computer thing and will be setting up a paypal account as soon as i figure all that out:)  As far as ordering until then, it's easy...you can email me at originalnogginsocks@yahoo.com or text an order to 360-250-9078 or post here or on my facebook page.  Please remember to include the size (or age) of person to recieve their Noggin Sock and also colors and style.
There are three basic style's of Noggin Socks so far...regular beenie, ruffle, and the ever so popular ear flap style.  I am also working on seasonal designs as well...that idea came to me in October 2010 when I designed the popular pumpkin patch hat!  Those were a hit for the families and kids who went pumpkin hunting this halloween season!  Of course I will be bringing those back next year.  Since spring is right around the corner and it will still be perfect hat weather, I am designing a great spring hat that I will introduce soon!!!
Thank you for taking time to look at my page and please remember to share my page with your friends!!!!
Also...keep your eyes peeled for the other many crafts I will be bringing once hat season is over!!!!
